Story

While expanding his burrow, the fox came across an old casket containing a mysterious piece of paper. "A recipe that can be used to open the blossom of the legendary full moon flower. Otherwise, its blossom only opens once every 100 years!" says Flurin excitedly. "All the ingredients have to be picked and brewed into a tincture during the full moon. This is then drizzled over the flower head. Today is a full moon, so let's get going! You golden eagle fly off and find the full moon flower - nobody can see better than you. Meanwhile, we collect everything we need. As soon as you've spotted the full moon flower, you'll fetch
us and lead us to it," says Flurin.

1) Sun rose

Murmeli leads his friends to the place where sun roses grow. There they crush two closed flowers for the mysterious tincture. When Murmeli was little, his mother often brought him here when he was afraid of the golden eagle. “Take a little of this, it will calm you down and take away your fear,” she taught him. Murmeli and the golden eagle are now best friends and he no longer needs the sun rose.

2) Thyme

Flurin knows exactly where to find the second ingredient for their tincture. It grows in one of his favorite places because he loves the scent of thyme. He carefully plucks two sprigs. “Look at that!” snorts Flurin indignantly. "Certain two-legged friends have no respect for nature and our home. What they don't need anymore, they just leave lying around!" "I noticed the same thing when I was roaming around the other day. I wonder if they do the same at home?" asks the fox, shaking his head.

Note: Please don't leave your waste lying around. Flurin and his friends will thank you for it!

3) Blueberry

Next, they need the juice from five blueberries. The fox leads them straight to the right place. He knows exactly where to find the juiciest blueberries - they are one of his favorite foods. "Blueberries not only taste delicious, they are also healthy, because they strengthen the whole immune system. They make you less ill!", he explains to his friends. “But don't eat too many at once, otherwise you'll probably have to jump behind the bushes!”, laughs the fox, whose teeth are now slightly blue.

4) Layers of earth and Monkshood

On the way to the valerian, they stop abruptly. "Look at that! The whole slope has slid down. You can even see the different layers of soil by their colors!", marvels Murmeli. "At least the slope has also swept away the aconite so that nobody can get too close to it. As beautiful as this plant looks, it is also poisonous. Even if you just touch it, its poison takes effect," Flurin explains to his two friends.

5) Valerian (roots)

Arriving at the valerian, the fox keeps an eye out for the golden eagle. If he hasn't found the wondrous full-moon flower, all their labor of love will have been in vain. Meanwhile, Murmeli digs up the root of the valerian while Flurin carefully pulls on the plant. "We only need a little of the whole root. Carefully pinch off some of it, then we can plant it back into the ground. That shouldn't actually harm it too much," Flurin admonishes the marmot.

6) Arnica

While they are plucking ten petals from the last ingredient, the arnica, to add to the rest, the golden eagle appears on the horizon. “Have you got all the ingredients together?” he asks. “Yes, we're ready,” replies Flurin. "Perfect, then follow me. I found the full moon flower - which wasn't easy. Luckily for me, I have such a keen eye. So, let's go", caws the eagle and takes off again. The marmot climbs onto Flurin's back, holds on to his horns and they leap over hill and dale.

7) Full moon flower

After the eagle has led his friends to the full moon flower, they heat all the ingredients over a fire as described on the paper. They then mix the heated ingredients and drizzle five drops onto the closed flower head. It takes a moment and then it happens: slowly the flower begins to open and all of a sudden it pops open completely. None of them had ever seen a flower like this before. “Shining as bright as the moon and as pure as untouched snow - fabulous...”, whisper the four friends as if in chorus.
