Dynamic prices

Dynamic pricing model

What is a dynamic pricing model and how does it work?
The idea of dynamic pricing is not new in itself: in the field of air travel and hotel bookings, such systems have long been common practice and guests take them for granted. The dynamic pricing model continuously recalculates the prices for ski tickets. The current price is influenced by various factors such as the season phase, the day of the week, the booking date, the current booking levels or the weather forecast. The price is calculated using an algorithm. In any case, those who book early benefit.
Why are Savognin Bergbahnen using a dynamic pricing model?
We want to make our guests' on-site experience even more enjoyable and keep our finger on the pulse as a company. The aim of the dynamic pricing model is to utilize our lift facilities evenly, make skiing more attractive during the off-season and - thanks to a user-friendly online booking process - reduce waiting times in the valley. With the dynamic prices, we also offer our guests an attractive early booking bonus, which will benefit families in particular, as they usually plan their skiing vacations well in advance.

Price regulations

Will skiing become more expensive with the dynamic pricing model?
No. Compared to the static prices, skiing becomes cheaper on a large number of days. Early bookings are rewarded with lower prices and also on days with lower demand you can benefit from price advantages. In the peak season, prices can rise due to high demand. In any case, however, the following applies: Those who book early, profit.
How much does a day ticket cost with the dynamic pricing model?
The current prices are available on the website at www.valsurses.ch/skiticket.
Who decides on the prices and when are they set?
Those who book early benefit. Our guests influence the price of the ski ticket through their booking behavior. The current price is influenced by various factors such as the season phase, the day of the week, the booking date, the current booking levels or the weather forecast. The price is calculated continuously using an algorithm. The displayed price for the current day does not change during operating hours.
An schönen Tagen oder an Wochenenden wird Skifahren aber teurer?
But skiing becomes more expensive on nice days or weekends?
Is it possible that the stated price will drop again?
No. The displayed price is the best possible offer. There are no short-term price reductions. Therefore, the following always applies: Booking early is worthwhile, because the price valid today for a ski ticket on a certain day will no longer be cheaper.
When can I check the price of a ski ticket?
Ticket prices will be available for the upcoming winter season starting in October.
Where can I check the current daily price?
The current prices are continuously updated and can be found on our website at www.valsurses.ch/skiticket. The price at the box office always corresponds to the daily price displayed online.

Guests and purchase

How can guests benefit from the new pricing model?
Our guests can benefit from the dynamic pricing model in several ways. Early bookers benefit the most. The earlier you buy your ski tickets, the more you can save. Furthermore, our guests benefit from lower prices if they do not ski during the peak season. Thanks to the user-friendly booking platform, our guests can book their ski tickets from the comfort of their own home and lose no time at the ticket office at the valley station, but can go straight to the slopes.
Does the dynamic pricing model also apply to children and young people?
Yes, the dynamic pricing model applies to all age groups, with FlurinKids, children and teens continuing to benefit from lower rates.
Why should you book ski tickets online in advance?
Guests who book online early benefit from lower prices. The price, which is recalculated daily, tends to increase the closer the ski day gets or the more demand for a certain ski day has already been realized. Early bookers therefore ski cheaper than guests who buy their ski ticket at short notice or at the ticket office at the valley station. There will be no short-term price reductions.
Can ski tickets still be purchased at the valley station?
Yes, all ski tickets are still available at the ticket office of the valley station at the daily price displayed online.
Is the dynamic pricing model also available at the ticket office?
At the ticket office of the valley station the ski tickets are available at the daily price displayed online. It is also possible to purchase ski tickets for a later date at the ticket office and thus benefit from the early booking bonus.

Season tickets

How can season ticket holders benefit from the dynamic pricing model?
With the introduction of the dynamic pricing model, we are aiming for a more even utilization of the facilities. This means that season ticket holders can also benefit from the new pricing structure. However, guests will continue to pay a fixed price for season tickets.
