Rail travel with the RhB
A train journey through Graubünden overcomes longer distances in the most pleasant way and at the same time creates closeness to what defines our region: the exciting mountain world that man has masterfully explored. This becomes noticeable when you conquer the highest railway traversal in the Alps in the Bernina Express. For train fans and families, the Rhaetian Railway also offers historical and adventure-packed things along the route, for example in the Albula Railway Museum.
The Tiefencastel and St. Moritz train stations are closest to the Val Surses.
From the glaciers to the palm trees
On a ride on the Bernina Express, you will experience the beauty of the Alpine region from an extraordinary perspective. The natural landscape comes very close through the panoramic windows of the Rhaetian Railway, which runs through Graubünden as a link that connects languages and cultures. Particularly impressive: the impressive glacier worlds at Piz Palü and Morteratsch or the fantastic views from Alp Grüm and at the Montebello curve.
Albula Railway Museum
In Bergün, directly on the Albula line of the Rhaetian Railway, is the Albula Railway Museum, a place for families and railway enthusiasts. Here visitors can find out historical and current aspects of the most spectacular of all Swiss railway lines as well as information on the history of construction and the economic and social changes caused by railway construction using multimedia rooms and original exhibits.
Albula Railway Adventure Trail
The sections between Preda, Bergün and Filisur are among the most spectacular in the world. On the new "Albula Railway Adventure Trail", which runs parallel to the railway line, you can experience the perfect interplay of landscape and technology on your own two feet.

Open observation car
The driving experience is doubled in the open observation car. Fresh air and the best views are included. Open observation cars run regularly between Filisur and Davos. Just get on - no additional ticket is necessary.

Historic trips
From May to October you have the opportunity to travel daily from Filisur to Davos with a historical train composition from the 1920s.

At the ticket counter at Tiefencastel train station, you benefit from a 10% discount on all normal Rhaetian Railway tickets with the Ela Card guest card. Please note the opening times of the counter.

The Landwasser Viaduct
The Landwasser Viaduct is the largest and most spectacular bridge structure on the RhB and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008. The bridge not far from Filisur is the end point of the railway adventure trail.
The Landwasser Viaduct, built in 1901–02, is a brick arched bridge with a length of 136 m, a height of 65 m and a span of 20 m.It is one of the most elegant bridge constructions of the RhB. From the cantonal road a footpath leads to the pillars, from there an ascent to a viewing platform.
