Event Surses

Astronomie-Beobachtungsabend

Description

During the observations, guests actively participate in practical parts and can explore the night sky using telescopes. The astronomical phenomena are explained in an easily understandable way by Simon Bergamin (Astronomia Surses), tailored to the needs and prior knowledge of the guests. We observe with one to two reflecting telescopes (each with a diameter of 20 cm) and one astrograph (special telescope for astrophotography) celestial objects such as planets, moons, galaxies, and nebulae. These practical observations are complemented by a small presentation showcasing self-made astrophotos and explanations of the photographed objects.

Bad weather: Rescheduled date is the following day.

Special on August 12: Solar Eclipse
On August 12, we can expect an extraordinary natural spectacle: About 92% of the sun will be covered by the moon, appearing as a narrow crescent. The spectacle will be observed from Alp Flix with a clear view over the Graubünden mountains.

Time: 6.30 p.m. / Duration: approx. 4 hours
Cost: CHF 30.- (including soup and drink) with guest card / CHF 35.- (including soup and drink) without guest card
In case of bad weather, the normal offer as described above will take place the following day (August 13, 2026).
