ORIGEN | ALVETTA

The Rhaeto-Romans have their very own Snow White, whom they call Alvetta. In the Romanesque version, the dwarfs are young adults and the stepmother is a particularly evil farmer's wife who is full of vanity and constantly questions the mirror. Alvetta flees from the evil house and finds refuge with the seven siblings, who eke out a meagre but happy life somewhere in the forest. Origen's amateurs are on stage, accompanied by experienced dancers who together wrest a new dimension from the old fairy tale.
