On the Alpine Passes Trail from Radons to Ausserferrera
Show all 11 images
Beautiful, challenging marked hike (however partly only trail traces) from Radons to Ausserferrera.
The path through the Val Schmorras seems never-ending. Upon reaching the pass of the same name, the mountain scenery is impressive; the terrain is difficult. Full of blooming flowers and stone piles is the path after the Mos alp.

Description
On the well-developed mountain road, start from Radons to the Schmorras alp (2277 m above sea level), from there follow the trail traces (red/white marked) to the Pass da Schmorras (2563 m above sea level), a small lake indicates the pass height. Afterwards begins the descent to Cresta and finally Ausserferrera. In the first part of the route after the pass height, continue following the trail traces until the Alpine Passes Trail lives up to its name and a path, later a mountain road, leads into the valley.
Further downhill, one hikes on a gravel road. Recognizable from afar, the village of Cresta with the old, heritage-protected church in a scenic location. Shortly afterward, you arrive in Ausserferrera.
