Parc Ela Trek Stage 2, Route: Stierva - Dartschapetta - Ziteil - Radons

We hike uphill past the Bargung and Tiragn mountain pastures. Hay meadows and wooded pastures alternate until, at Bot la Pale, the trail branches off to the left instead of to the right, heading toward Dartschapetta. The moorland, with its fens on Grisons slate and flysch, reveals its distinctive character. Scattered throughout the mountain meadows are hay barns, known in Romansh as “Tgamons.” The peaks of Piz Toissa and Curver Pintg form a fascinating backdrop. Below Crap l’Evla, we hike to the pilgrimage site of Ziteil. The trail winds through alpine meadows to the Maiensäss settlement of Som igls Mellens and on to Alp Foppa. As we cross the Adont, we look out over its wild watershed, the Val Cumegna. After a short climb, we follow the high-altitude trail to Somtgant. From there, we take a leisurely stroll along the “Alpleben Somtgant” themed trail to Radons. Overnight stay in Radons: Tigia Val Surses, Berghuus Radons, Camping Muntanela
