Description
Stage three leads through two lonely side valleys, the Val Curtegns and the Val Gronda. Between them rise the striking peaks of the 3000-meter Piz Arblatsch and Piz Forbesch. The path steadily climbs from Radons up to the Fuorcla Starlera. In the scree of the upper Val Curtegns, the alpine toadflax blooms conspicuously. We turn southwards and hike over the Fuorcla Curtegns, which offers a magnificent view of the Crester Wissberge with their bright, marble-like calcite veins. At point 2514, we turn east into the Val Gronda. The mountain slopes draw closer, and the mountain creek accompanies us. In the Val Gronda, young cattle and mother cows spend part of the alpine summer. The valley immediately opens up and, before us, lie the mountain meadows of Plang Faller. In the hamlet of the same name, we find the gently renovated, former herder’s hut of the farmers from Mese (I). Overnight Alp Faller: Tigias Plang Faller. Variant: Radons - F. Starlera - F. Curtegns - Tälifurgga - Cresta Avers
