Description

The Septimer Pass connects Bergell with Oberhalbstein and forms the watershed between the Rhine and Po. The tour starts in Bivio with a technically simple trail followed by a rough, technically challenging section to Fuorcla da la Valletta. From Forcellina, the view opens up to the Avers high valley with the well-known hamlet of Juf, the highest and year-round inhabited place in Europe. The climate and harshness of the high alpine zone above 2500 meters are clearly noticeable. At the pass summit, there is a mountain lake and a few hundred meters towards Bergell, the Cesa da Sett with accommodation and refreshment options.

Return to Bivio goes through the high valley of the Septimer Pass on a path that changes to a forest road and finally to asphalt.
